Fujifilm Prescale Film is a material for measuring pressure. It allows to measure the value, balance and distribution of contact pressures.

The Prescale film consists of a sheet having micro-capsules on its surface. Under the pressure exerted, the capsules are broken and the coloring material is dissipated: an impression of red color is then formed on the film.

The intensity of the red coloring depends on the intensity of the pressure exerted (density: 0.1-1.4). All Prescale sheets feature sensitivity up to an accuracy of 0.125mm. Thanks to the unique manufacturing process of these sheets, they are made of an extremely thin and resistant material which allows the measurement of the contact pressure.

The fields of application are very diverse and apply to:

• measure the distribution of the pressure level between surfaces in contact: gearboxes, turbines, fans, pumps, hydraulic cylinders, compressors, etc.

• check the thickness of the engine blocks

• check the equality of the loads between two mechanical parts, electrical contacts, etc.

• develop sealing and filling / compressing joints

• control the design and manufacturing quality of LCD screen

• the design of fuel cells

• checking the arrangement of mechanical parts or machining processes

• test an impact or a shock in the automotive (Air-bag), equipment manufacturer and aeronautic sectors

• the adjustment of knees and hips, shoe soles, etc.

• optimize the process of the molding devices in terms of pressure distribution

• check the grooves and pressures exerted in the lamination operations in the manufacture of paper and sheets (calenders), layers of printed circuits,

• pressure distribution in presses and rolling processes

• Possibility of using Prescale film in applications where liquid comes into contact with the sheet. Indeed, the two-layer sheet is composed of a polyester support, which protects both the microcapsules and the layer where the coloring appears. The use of a single-layer foil is also possible by using the supplied protective foil.

• The Prescale film can also be used at high temperature levels (T ° <400 ° C). For this, the use of an additional insulating protective sheet is required

Other pressures: Water jets, medical tests, walking pressures, wind impact pressures or pressures from sports fields.

TWO MEASUREMENT READING SYSTEMS:

- According to ABAQUES: Charts are made available according to the measuring range of the selected pressure films. The humidity level and the temperature of the place where the tests are carried out + the pressure time observed must be taken into account.

- According to FDP8010-E Analysis and Processing Software Image analysis and processing software accompanied by a scanner and its specific closure, a calibration sheet, provides a fine and detailed analysis of the measurements.
